Our daycare service is open MON – FRI (0700 – 1800). Bringing your dog to daycare has so many wonderful benefits including:
1/ Peace of mind for the owner, knowing your pet is enjoying safe play with its canine friends and our experienced and caring staff.
2/ Allows your dog to be just a dog. Dogs are naturally pack animals. They love the interaction and stimulation playing alongside canine friends.
3/ All day supervision with a structured day. Free play, supervised exercise and relaxation time when needed, all in a safe, caring environment.
4/ A reduction in destructive behaviour. Your dog will return home a happy, contented pet.
Our daycare service is specifically designed to ensure your precious pooch is exercised and stimulated throughout their time with us. To socialise and decrease overall anxiety within your pet and promote safe and structured pet play and overall have fun. BOARDING
Hillcrest Doggy Daycare & Boarding offers a boarding service that has been specifically designed to make your precious pooch feel like our home is theirs. We strive to make your beloved pooch feel like they are coming to their favourite Aunties House. Some of the comforts we provide are:
1/ We spend 85% - 90% of our day with you dog. As home boarders, we aim to create trust and positive attachments to each pet we care for so when they return in the future, they are not only comfortable with us but excited to be with us.
2/ We have 2 of our own precious pooches and all our boarders will have access to the same inside areas as our own dogs. As soon as they arrive, they become a loved and cared for member of our family.
3/ Every boarder is allocated a place in our daycare for their full stay and will enjoy all the benefits of our daycare facility.
4/ Each dog has and individual personality and therefore, individual needs and we aim to provide a bespoke service to all our boarders in order to cater to each of their unique requirements.

GROOMING
We are now offering grooming services!
We are now open for grooming between 10am and 5pm for all your grooming needs.
We are Ipet level 3 fully qualified groomers and have time served and graduated from The Ayrshire Grooming Salon and Academy in Ardrossan, North Ayrshire.
Our qualifications has taught us the correct and safe way to cut and style your precious pet for their breed standard as well as adhering to your own personal wants and requests. We fully comply with all grooming laws and legislation and will advise on a cut that is safe and suitable, not only for your dog’s breed and coat, but for the owner’s lifestyle and the affects it could have on your dog.
We use the highest grade cleaning products, shampoos and conditioners most appropriate for your dog’s breed and coat. From tail to paws, our practices are designed to take special care of your prized pooch.
Due to the nature of our business we do limit grooming spaces in order to maintain the high standards of practice in our existing services.
Doors open and Daycare guests for the day start to arrive. Our rested Boarders have a reserved place in our Daycare for the duration of their stay.
03/03/2023By now all the dogs have arrive. Everyone has said good morning to everyone else and just like in any school playground, everyone finds friends with a similar play style to hang out with. Our Boarders are guided into our feeding area and given their first meals of the day (We will allow at least 1 hour of rest after feeding to allow proper digestion and avoid the risk of twisted stomachs)
03/03/2023Lunch time for Hillcrest Staff and chill time for our pooches. We gently persuade everyone to rest for an hour, including the Duracell Dogs.
03/03/2023Pooches let loose for final playtime before the start of collections at 4pm.
03/03/2023The daily task of matching leads to dogs begins as the first mums and dads start arriving to pick up their tired and contented dogs.
03/03/2023Daycare closes, and our Boarders are given their second meals of the day (We will allow at least 1 hour of rest after feeding to allow proper digestion and avoid the risk of twisted stomachs).
03/03/2023Our Boarders are taken for an evening walk to ensure they are all fully exercised before bed. We match the walking distance to each dog based on a number of factors including age, size and breed.
03/03/2023All pooches go to doggy slumberland, and it all starts again the next morning at 7am.
03/03/2023ASSESSMENT
Whether you are looking for daycare or boarding, we require an initial assessment to be carried out. Your dog will be introduced to a one or two of our dogs to observer their interactions. We are looking for any aggressive, fearful, and anxious tendencies. It is essential to confirm that your dog will be happy at daycare and to board with us. It’s also important for us to observer your dog’s behaviour without your presence – remember – you won’t be there when your dog is in daycare or boarding with us. Ultimately, we can only offer places to good natured dogs that can mix well with others. All female dogs must be spayed. We accept puppies for daycare from 2 weeks after their final vaccinations and can board with us when they reach 6 months old. Exception may be made depending on the progress of your dog at daycare or if they show social maturity during the initial assessment. Please note: Only 2 persons are able to attend an assessment and all individuals must be over the age of 16 years of age. The assessment will take between 30 and 45 minutes and hopefully all questions will be answered during this time.
After the assessment you will have 7 days to book your daycare trial, otherwise we release the dates and daycare places back to the general public and existing customers.
Please note that your boarding request is NOT confirmed until the daycare trial has completed and has been deemed successful.
SECURITY
At Hillcrest Doggy Daycare & Boarding, security is a top priority. Due to this, all assessments and initial visits are by appointment only. Our facility is divided into 2 areas:
1/ Collection & Drop Off Area
2/ K9 Compound (Staff & Dogs Only)
1/ Our Collection and Drop Off area is secured by 12-15 foot box hedging and can only be accessed through our coded automated gates. There are 6 high resolution cameras recording 24 hours per day and we have a motion sense camera located at the automated gates that captures all in-coming and out-going visitors.
2/ Our K9 Compound is secured by a 6-8 foot brick wall with additional fence netting on the rear elevation. Only Hillcrest Staff & Doggy Pets are permitted to be in this area. The only exception is during your initial visit and assessment when you will be given a guided tour of our whole facility.
Drop Off Security: We require all arriving dogs to remain on their leads until the automatic main gate has fully closed or they are secure in one of the wooden holding pens. It is the owner’s responsibility for their own pet’s safety until the dog is within the secure wooden holding pens at the entrance of the daycare compound.
Collection Security: Upon collection please do NOT open the holding pen gates until you are advised to do so by a member of staff or a staff member opens them for you. As there is always a chance that other dogs could have made it into the pen with your pet we need a moment to remove them before the exit gates are open. When leaving the wooden holding pens, all dogs must be placed back on their leads. It is essential that the main automated gate is fully closed before the wooden gates are opened and your pet is placed on their lead.
